EPC Contractor and his role in construction

When implementing both small and large construction projects, it is difficult to overestimate the role of a EPC Contractor as the main contractor of the planned facility.

Management and coordination of all stages of construction and installation works;

Depending on the terms and conditions of the contract between a Client and EPC Contractor, the obligations of the latter may include:

Planning. Development of a detailed phased work plan for all project participants.

Construction. All construction work specified in the contract and carried out on our own or by involving subcontractors. EPC Contractor is fully responsible for selection of subcontractors, contractual and other relations, work control, as well as the acceptance of intermediate work performed by subcontractors.

Delivery. EPC Contractor ensures the uninterrupted and timely delivery of materials and equipment to a site.

Reports and control.. The EPC Contractor is responsible to the client for the timely reporting on the work schedule.

Site development. In some cases, according to the agreement of the parties, the EPC Contractor is responsible for choosing a site for construction according to the project specifications. In this situation, the EPC Contractor resolves all related issues, such as cutting down greenery, transfer of communication lines, approval on construction using power lines, and so on. The EPC Contractor is responsible for geodetic survey and its documentation.

Commissioning. The EPC Contractor undertakes obligations to check the quality of construction, to pass the acceptance committee and hand over the package of documents to the client.
